360 Pulls Ahead of PS3 in MarchMicrosoft's console outsells Sony's, but both are trounced by Wii.
The Xbox 360 pulled slightly ahead of the PlayStation 3 in sales last month, moving 262,000 units compared to the PS3's 257,000, according to data released today by the NPD group.
Both systems were left in the dust in March, however, by the ever-pwning Nintendo Wii, which sold a whopping 721,000 units, the highest single-month unit sales of any videogame platform outside the holiday season.
Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Brawl dominated software sales in March, grabbing the No. 1 spot and more than doubling the sales of its closest competitor, Ubisoft's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 for the Xbox 360. According to NPD data, three other 360 titles grabbed spots on the top ten unit sales list in March: Army of Two, MLB 2K8 and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
NPD also said Microsoft Point cards and Xbox Live subscription cards were "hot" accessory sellers in March.
In February, the PlayStation 3 outsold the Xbox 360, and Microsoft said in March that the sales dip was likely due to supply constraints. Today, the company said those conditions are largely over.
"Going into March, some key U.S. retailers were still experiencing the trickledown effect of Xbox 360 console shortages. By the end of March, supply issues had improved and we expect retailers to be fully stocked with Xbox 360 consoles in time for the Grand Theft Auto IV launch," Microsoft said in a news release.
GTA IV releases April 29 for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but Microsoft has secured the rights to release exclusive downloadable content for the 360 this fall. Will the GTA IV launch and extra Niko be enough to keep the 360 on top next month? Something tells us NPD will have all the answers in about 30 days.

Well this year is the final year for PS3. They either pull ahead or stay stuck.
However the chances of pulling ahead seem very high.

The problem was that PS3 had almost no games worth buying in the past and way too expensive. Also remember last year where the PS2 used to outsell the PS3 and 360 was way far ahead from the PS3? Well now the sales are almost similar. The difference of their sales isn't huge anymore.
And PS3 is getting more cooler games 
The only console that needs to worry is Wii :p

Yah Wii has nothing going for it...Except Reggie did say that at E3 2008 something HUGE was gonna be announced. E3 2008 is gonna be epic. I can tell, every Console is gonna have something big going for it.

360 has controllers...anyways Reggie said this on Gametrailers TV Wii Fit episode.
I bet it's a Pit game. Or Kirby? But still we want new entire franchises.

ya 360 controllers are big and bulky and require batteries unlike ps3 ones that get recharged./..and ps3 pulling ahead this year is very likely....and Badie judging from yourp ost GTA4 is in 8 days not 30.....>.<
