Haha! Yeah, my brother got in. It's an amazing game, well at least it appears to be.
There's some long loading times and a few glitches here and there but its the beta so it's not like I didn't expect it. The graphics are really good. They dimmed it down a bit because it's just the beta, but man, when the real game comes out it is going to look so nice. The game play is awesome as well, very unique. The beta caps the leveling at 13, so I'm trying out all the classes. So far, I'm quite pleased with the game. It's definately something to look forward to this month. I reccomend buying it. ^_^ |

The beta runs on DX9 right now. When the game comes out it'll use DX10. I wish MMORGS could be free online... -sigh- But that's a wish that will never be granted. By the way, I don't think that its the first M rated MMORPG. |

DX10 is BS (and i also realized the abbreviation HD has the same letters as BS, what does that tell you) anyways, even if it runs on DX10 there can't be a difference, MMO's never really generated around extreme graphics, would be too hard on their servers, but the graphics still do look good, hopefully by the time it actually comes out it'll be delivered in DX9, and well optimized

I guess almost anyone can run it in DX9 ...Those are some low specs...No excuses people. But then again subscription is expensive....First 12 months free though .

well guild wars is a one time payment....and from them akers of diablo a similiar style mmo is coming out that's completely free it's called Mythos..It's going to be awesome

Well, I'm pretty sure it ends at the end of the month although it may end when the game officially comes out. I was told it ended at the end of the month.

Kare Bear, the logic I used to come up with my conclusion is very simple. Make an assumption of 100 million potential PC gamers. Out of those, you have to find the potential PC gamers who give a damn about MMO games, willing to pay subscriptions fee, willing to buy the game, and are able to play it. That will end you up with a pretty low number.
Now with WoW, anyone can run the game, the game is popular that most non-gamers have heard about it and it's pretty much the king of MMOs. The fact that AoC has higher requirements settings means it can't compare with WoW in terms of sales. Need a proof? Crysis. only sold 1 million units on PCs for a game that is supposedly to be the best FPS game of 2007. @Badie: The settings you posted are for the DX9 version? because the one I read where insane. I guess I read the one for the DX10 version or something. |

um Phatkav you have no idea.....way more people have signed up for the beta than are playing WOW and not including future potential gamers for this game the number will be massive...and many people have better PCs not many are sticking with old ones... | ||||

Just because a game sells more, does not mean it is "better" than another game. Game play wise, AoC is by far superior, as well as graphic wise. I was once an addict of WoW, but it gets so boring. It's only fun to raid, sometimes anyway. But in AoC you can do siege battles on castles, WoW has NOTHING on AoC. |

Agreed...stop making me rethink my purchasing decisions. . I want a demo for public release though...So I can test like one quest or something before paying 80 bucks for the retail boxed copy and later (12 mon) buying a subscription.

Well, there are a few bugs in the beta, that's for sure. It's a beta afterall. But they'll have them fixed by release time.
You'll enjoy AoC though. =D I love it. Its just so... awesome. I loveee how they've done the combat system. |
