Black Cat (ブラックキャット) is a manga series by Kentaro Yabuki which was serialized in Shonen Jump Magazine. The series has concluded in Japan at 20 volumes. It is also licensed by VIZ Media, and the English release started on March 7, 2006 and is currently up to volume 6. The Black Cat anime aired in Japan across Animax and TBS, between 6 October 2005 and 30 March 2006. It consists of 23 episodes and is produced by GONZO.

Black Cat is a balance between silly humor and serious moments, with an anti-hero cast battling somewhat stereotypical evil plots. The strength of Black Cat is an emphasis on character development and interaction, rather than resolution of greater conflict.

It's about Black Cat (XIII), Train Heartnet, the famous assasin has been rumoured to have been killed but has changed to a bounty hunter, a stray cat.

Now he thinks his past is way behind him, but everything starts to come back, like Creed, his partner back then, asking him to help take over the world. And the organization which is battling the Creed's group. Creed's group has the power of Chi.

Train Heartnet was the strongest of the thirteen numbers in the organization.
