Failure to abide by the following rules grants us the full right to close, move, edit or delete your thread or post, as well as to increase your warning level, to fine you points, and ultimately to ban you. Excessive disregard of the rules will see you banned from the entire HCG Network.

Posting Rules

* If you intend to start a thread, do it in the appropriate forum. Please read each forum description before posting to ensure you are posting in the correct forum.
* New threads containing solely redundant questions or information are not allowed. Before starting a thread please run a search to see if another thread on that topic has already been established. If so, place your comment there instead.
* Advertising, spamming and trolling are not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Personal Message system to spam other members.
* Multiple or repeated posting, whether or not in order to increase your post or point count is strictly prohibited.
* Do not post meaningless threads, one word (or short) nonsense posts, or the likes, and do not "bump" threads to keep them near the top of the list.
* When posting make at least one full sentence adding new content to the thread. Posts considered nonsensical, too short or a mere repetition of previous posts will be deleted, and the points earned from them will be fined.
* Do not use more than one emoticon in a row.
* Stay on topic. That is, do not post content that is irrelevant to the thread's current topic of discussion. If you wish to discuss something else, post in or start another thread.
* Only the thread starter may alter the topic of discussion, granted it is done explicitly.
* If you are going to post non-English on these forums, also include a legible English translation of your post.
* Please refrain from posting in a confusing or offensive manner. That includes excessive uses of capital letters, bold characters, large font sizes and 1337, or variations thereof.

General Rules

* Do not use obscene language of any sort.
* Do not post content pertaining to offensive or obscene material, pornographic material, nudity, racism, hatred, profanity or ways to gain money.
* Posting links, URLs or anything indicating how to find any kind of site which offers ROMs you can download on The HCG Network is strictly prohibited.
* Posting a bunch of nonsense just to lengthen your post is strictly prohibited. (This includes the Spam Center)
* If you wish to advertise your site, you must have more than 100 good posts, and permission from a main administrator.
*Supplying forbidden links/images will result in their immediate removal.
* Do not hotlink illegal websites.
* Do not add images exceeding the width of the page.
* Do not quote images; doing so will make the image repeatedly reappear, thus making the page longer to load.
* Each member is allowed only one account. Registering multiple accounts on the forums is not allowed and will see all your accounts banned automatically unless specifically authorized by the administration.
* If your account is listed on bugmenot and is valid, you will be banned, no exceptions.
* Even if not in direct violation of the rules, the administration reserves the right to arbitrarily ban any members considered offensive or abusive of the privileges given to them.

Profile Rules

* Signature images should not exceed the following size limits: 450 pixels wide, 200 pixels tall and 50kB in filesize. This also applies for multiple images all together.
* Avatars have no set limit on their resolution, as they are automatically resized. However, their filesize should not exceed 30kB, with the exception of gallery avatars.
* Personal photos must be no larger than 300 by 300 pixels and 50kB by filesize.
* Your signature, avatar or personal photo must not contain offensive, obscene material, nudity or sexually implicit material of any kind.

Profile elements will be subject to immediate removal if not conform to these specifications.

Contacting the Staff

* If you witness a member breaking a rule and wish to report him/her, please use the report feature under each post. A direct report to a staff member through Personal Message or email will most likely be ignored.
* Posting only to say a certain post is violating the forum rules is unhelpful and violates the rules just as much and will be treated accordingly.
* Do not email the site or send personal messages to the staff members asking questions which can be answered by reading the forums or the homepage.
* Do not PM or email a staff member requesting for GPs, or ROMs.
* Do not PM or email a staff member to argue about your warn level. You will be warned a second time if you are proved to be in the wrong or that your warn was justified.
