Technical and Historical Notes

After successfully stealing four of the Earth Alliance's prototype Gundam mobile suits, ZAFT reverse engineers them and incorporates new technologies such as Phase Shift armor and beam sabers into their own mobile suits. With these new technologies, ZAFT also builds several Gundams of their own under the direction of leader Patrick Zala. Unlike previous Gundam designs, these new units feature a dangerous new technology: the N-Jammer Canceler. ZAFT originally develops the N-Jammer to prevent the Alliance from using nuclear weapons, but this also means that mobile suits have to be powered by short life energy batteries. By creating the N-Jammer Canceler, a mobile suit can use a nuclear fission reactor and function for a nearly unlimited amount of time even with Phase Shift armor activated. Unfortunately, the N-Jammer Canceler technology proves to be a Pandora's Box that falls into the wrong hands.

The ZGMF-X09A Justice Gundam is one of the new Gundams built by ZAFT. The main feature of this mobile suit is the Fatum-00 backpack which also doubles as a subflight system operable in space or on Earth. The Fatum-00 can also be operated via remote control and be used as a separate attack unit in battle. The Justice Gundam's main armaments are stored on the backpack, but a pair of vulcan guns, beam sabers and beam boomerangs are located on the main body. Armaments on the backpack include various machine guns and a pair of beam cannons for use in HiMAT (High Mobility Aerial Tactics) mode. In addition to these armaments, the Justice Gundam is capable of using something far more powerful: the METEOR support system. This mobile weapons platform is designed specifically for use by the Justice Gundam and ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam and is stored aboard the support ship Eternal. By using the METEOR, the Justice Gundam can deliver a blitzkrieg attack utilizing various cannons, missile launchers and with two long beam swords.

The Justice Gundam is deployed in late C.E. 71 by Athrun Zala under orders from his father Patrick to locate or destroy the stolen Freedom Gundam. However, after locating the Freedom Gundam, Athrun decides to switch sides and join his old friend and former enemy Kira Yamato. Athrun joins the battle against the Alliance at Orb, and after the collapse of the neutral nation he goes into space with the Archangel and the Orb ship Kusanagi. There, Athrun is joined by Lacus Clyne and her supporters, who steal the support ship Eternal and its two METEOR units. With the powerful METEOR support system, Athrun is able to prevent the PLANTs from being destroyed by nuclear missiles and also destroy the GAT-X131 Calamity Gundam. At the war's end, Athrun self-detonates the Justice Gundam within the massive laser cannon GENESIS to destroy it, but he is rescued by Cagalli Yula Athha's MBF-02+AQM/E-X-01 Aile Strike Rouge.

A conflict which started between the Earth Alliance [aka Naturals] and Zaft [aka Coordinators], which started because of economic troubles was clearly undecided. The two sides had no other choice, and war broke out. 11 months after this war started is when the timeline of Gundam SEED all begins. Heliopolis; a colony which is a 'neutral' colony was dragged into the war while Earth hid their secret mobile suits here. ZAFT mobile suit force raids Heliopolis and thus capturing all but 1 of the Gundams.

This series is truely one that has interesting twists and turns and seems to always have new things that will hit you out of no where. Character deveolpement is something that Gundam Seed seems to have plenty of... the characters are involved in various relationships and seem to not care about 'fighting' in general compared to some other series.

I'd recommend this Gundam series to everyone even if you're not exactly the greatest mecha fan, theres something for everyone.

Stargazer C.E. 73 Synopsis

Released: July 14, 2006
Director: Susumu Nishizawa

Story:
Stargazer takes place during the war of C.E. 73 taking place right after the Break the World incident with Junius 7. It is based on Sven Cal Bayan, a 19-year old natural who is a member of the Phantom Pain special forces and Selene McGriff, a 28-year old female Coordinator who is a researcher for the GSX-401FW Stargazer project for the DSSD.

DSSD stands for Deep Space Survey and Development, a neutral organization that is established for the purpose of research of space beyond the orbit of Mars. It's neutrality is due to it's establishment during the time of peace after the events of Gundam SEED. Participating in it's establishment include the Earth Alliance, ORB, and ZAFT, with the Alliance and ZAFT holding the majority of the power. It's main principle is to exclude all prejudices between Natural and Coordinator alike and research for the good of humanity to the far reaches of space.

Phantom Pain is a private miltary organization organized by the Blue Cosmos that operates under Logos. The official name of this division is the 81st independent Mobile Battalion of the Earth Alliance executing special operations that try to keep their actions hidden away from public, which keeps it effective. Because of it being an offshoot to the Blue Cosmos, it is armed with primarily the best in Alliance personnel and equipment. Unbound by the Treaty of Junius, Phantom Pain is allowed to utilize Nuclear-powered weapons, the Mirage Colloid, as well as warships equipped with Phase Shift armor.

Gundam Destiny Opening Songs

First Opening

Song: T.M. Revolution- Ignited
Aired in: Episode 1-13
Description: This opening is done by T.M. Revolution, the same person who did the 1st opening in Seed, which has a similar name. Features new characters including Rey, Lunamaria, and Shinn Asuka along with their new mobile suits as well as Neo Lorrnoke. The visuals are great for the start of this new series.
Impression: Great opening to get start off the new sequel to Seed. It is upbeat and its visuals match with the music very well.
Rating: 4/5

Second Opening

Song: High and Mighty Color- Pride
Aired in: Episode 14-24
Description: A unique opening, but one disliked by many. It features many new scenes including a preview of new MS including the suspected Destiny Gundam and other new Ms such as Waltfeld's custom Murasame and Heine's Gouf Ignited).
Impression: Though the music is a new style, it matches great with the scenes and is not that bad. This opening to me is one of the more "unique" openings with a different feel to it. The song itself is fairly modest in tone and ok. The annoying part of the song is the rappers that are in the background, which downgrades the goodness of the music itself. Other than the rappers, it is a fairly good opening for the series.
Rating: 3.8/5

Third Opening

Song: Hitomi Takahashi- Bokutachi No Yukue
Aired in: Episode 25-37
Description: A very popular song done by a 15 year old girl who was chosen out of over 1,000 people who tried out at Sony Music Japan, this opening begins with a showing of the top half of the characters in this order: Shinn, Athrun, Murrue, Neo, Rey, Stellar, Lacus, and Kira. The brief instrumental that follows matches with the scenes as Kira in his Freedom Gundam wipes out a few mobile suits. It shows a great number of spoilers such as the Strike Freedom in action as well as a host of new scenes, new MS (GOUFs, Babis, and Dom Troopers), Knight Justice, followed by scenes of Freedom, Destiny, and Destroy.
Impression: After listening to it over and over again, I am amazed at how great the music was even though she performed this song at the age of 15. This is one of the best openings of Gundam Seed and Destiny, and definately should not be missed. Without a doubt, this is one of the greatest and most catchy songs I have ever heard. First time I heard this song, I played it in a loop and listened to it for 78 times straight non-stop. I continue my addiction to it and it hasn't stopped. This opening definately features a ton of action and the flow of the music matches great with the song. Though one part of it that striked me was the fact that Cagalli was shown in the opening with her uniform open and in her underwear. :/
Rating: 5/5

Fourth Opening

Song: Chemistry- Wings of Words
Aired in: Episode 38-50
Description: A few scenes from the previous openings were used, and some of them were modified. There are a plethora of new scenes and spoiler units including the Akatsuki and the Dom Troopers with their pilots. It also features Rey with Shinn (a modified version of the scene in the previous openings that showed Kira with Shinn), and Luna x Shinn. In the beginning, the Eternal, Kusanagi, and the Archangel are shown in space, then Shinn followed by the Destiny Gundam with its big purple butterfly-like wings. It uses first opening sequence of the 3rd OP, but it shows Shinn running on the right side of the screen. The art is extremely well done such as the destiny Gundam.
Impression: Another unique style that is very smooth and calm, though very well done. It may not be any upbeat songs like previous Gundam openings, but this style was very well suited and matched the scenes very well. I felt that this OP revolves around Shinn as it shows many scenes of Shinn in it than previous openings.
Rating: 4/5

Gundam Wing Synopsis

Aired in Japan: 1995-1996
Number of Episodes: 49
Director: Ikeda Masashi
Character Design: Shuko Murase
North American Release: March 2000 - Cartoon Network

The second Alternate Universe series following Mobile Fighter G Gundam, Gundam Wing (or simply "GundamW" as it was originally known) follows a story similar to that of the original One Year War saga. The year is After Colony (AC) 195, and after long years of war over rights to indepedence, the Earth based government has seized full hold of the colonies. In an effort to free themselves, rebel forces from five of the colonies send five young men in five powerful Gundams to Earth in order to combat the Earth Sphere Alliance and the secret organization responsible for their misery, OZ (Organization of Zodiac).

Trained to be mercenaries, the five fifteen year old boys, Heero, Duo, Trowa, Quatre and Wufei, begin a desperate battle to uncover and destroy OZ, only to find that the situation was not as straightforward as once thought. In the midst of it all, one of OZ's top pilots, the mysterious Zechs Merquise, is fighting a private war of his own to right the wrongs in his own past. And in and out of the center of conflict, one young girl named Relena Darlian is struggling to find her way and help settle the war with as little loss to either side as possible. There is no real good or evil; only each man or woman's perspective on war and how mankind should live in order to further its own existence.

Unlike G Gundam, Gundam Wing is a story heavily dependent on the philosophy of war as opposed to a true love story. The relationships between characters are sometimes sketchy at best, and their interactions are often best defined in conflict; whether against one another or in aiding one another in battle situations. In addition, it is believed by many that Wing was shaped as it was to attract a larger audience to gundam, extending it to females, whereas G reached out to the Super Robot genre. The series was later followed up with an OAV entitled Endless Waltz, which brought the AC story to a close and dealt with the original organization that ordered the Gundams sent to Earth. It was later released as a movie version with additional footage.

Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz Synopsis

Aired in Japan:25-Jan-1997 through 25-Jul-1997
Number of Episodes:3
Director: Yasunao Aoki
Character Design: Shuko Murase
North American Release: March 2000 - YTV [Canada]

AC 195, December 24th, Christmas Eve, saw the greatest battle between humans, as World Nation (Earth) and White Fang (Space Colonists) were locked in a bloody battle. This conflict was finally ended by the Gundam Pilots, while the leader of World Nation, Treize Khushrenada was slained and White Fang's leader Miliando Peacecraft disappeared. Having seen the violence ,terror and hatred of war, the people on Earth and the space colonies put prejudice aside and strive for peace. And thus a new world government is established..... Earth Sphere Unified Nation

Under this new govnernment, Earth and Space began a series of disarmaments and in the short space of a year, all mobile suits have been destroyed. Since Gundams are no longer needed in a time of peace, the Gundam pilots Heero Yuy, Duo Maxwell, Trowa Barton and Quantre Raberba Winner decided to farewell their Gundams by sending them into the sun.

However, peace never lasts long..... Relena Darlian, now the deputy foreign minister for the new government is abducted duting a visit to the colony X-18999. The person behind this scheme was a child named Mariemaia Khushrenada, heir to the mysterious Barton Foundation, and daughter of former World Nation leader, Treize Khushrenada. Mariemaia is determined to follow her father's footsteps and conquer the world, while the former Queen Relena will be a great propaganda tool.

While on a visit to X-18999 will the circus, Trowa stubbles across the Barton Foundation and began investigation. Similarly Heero and Duo realized Relena had been abducted and also set out to investigate. With former allies, Sally Po and Lucrezia Noin, now government agents (Preventer), the pilots began to sneak into X-18999.

The pilots soon realized that the colony was a huge Mobile Suit and weapons factory, and this was soon followed by Mariemaia's declaration of War. Her grandfather, Dekim Barton, was the planner of the scheme. Trowa tried to assassinate Dekim, but he was stopped by the fifth Gundam Pilot, Chang Wufei......

Meanwhile, both Heero and Duo were able to infriltrate the base, but only to be stopped by Wufei, and now Trowa as well! All seems lost, as Mariemaia mobilised her army and began her invasion of Earth. At the same time, a mysterious blond-haired man approaches Lady Une at the Preventer Headquaters... is the Lightning Baron reborn?

As Dekim launches his attack, a lone Mobile Suit appears, the Tallgese III, piloted by Miliando Peacecraft began attacking Dekim's legions of MS's. Dekim counters be threatening to drop space colonies onto the Earth, and reluctantly Miliando gave in...By now Heero, Duo and Trowa were able to escape from X-18999 while Quantre was able to retreive the Gundams.

Since Earth is now disarmed, Mariemaia's invasion was swift and easy, she quickly seized control of the government's headquaters at Brussels and retreats to a fortrified bunker. The only ones fighting against her huge leigon of MS's was Miliando's Tallgeese III and Noin, in her Taurus. Back in space, the Gundam team reunites, and Duo in his Deathscythe Hell, Quantre in his Sandrock and Trowa in his Heavyarms head straight back to Earth, joining Miliando and Noin's fight against Mariemaia. Now, Heero in his Wing Zero, is locked in battle with Wufei's Altron... the two fought a spectacular fight until Heero, tired of the endless fighting, breaks off the fight and plunges into the sea.....

The battle continues, but Duo, Trowa, Quantre, Miliando and Noin are seriously outnumbered, just as all seems lost, a battered Wing Zero suddenly appears in the horizon... with the Twin-Buster Rifle pointing at the fortrified bunker.... Heero repeatedly fires at the bunker until all its barriers are destroyed, while Wufei has relented and rejoined his comrades. Mariemaia finally realizes her mistake, and began to surrender, however, Dekim refused and shoots at Relena. Mariemaia pushes Relena to one side and takes the bullet herself, while Dekim, in disbelief, was shot by one of his own underlings. Heero suddenly arrives, ready to "finish" his mission by killing Mariemaia.... only to discover that his gun was empty..... the Perfect Soldier signs that he doesn't need to kill anyone anymore, and passes out.....

With Mariemaia surrending, the conflict ended... all the weapons and uniformed were destroyed while ALL the Gundam Pilots self-destructed their own Gundams, (including Wufei this time).... Peace was finally achieved....

There were some new scenes at the end that shows what our heroes were up to: Lady Une and the recovering Mariemaia visit her father's grave, Duo and his friend Belinda happily returns to their salvage business, Wufei and Sally now works for Preventer, Miliando and Noin sneak off to space as a couple, Trowa is happily working with Catherine in the circus, Quantre uses his wealth to rebuild the space colonies while Relena continues her work as a diplomat.... And what about our Perfect Soldier....?

The last scene sees Heero dressed in a casual clothes, slowly disappear into a crowd of people..... then the movie ends....

G.U.N.D.A.M

All the gundam series connect in some way in the time line of eras and the initial standing of G.U.N.D.A.M.

Guider Unmanned Deployment Autonomic Manipulation (The GSX-401FW Stargazer has a customized OS that is made by DSSD)

Gunnery United Nuclear Deutrion Advanced Maneuver (The ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam has a new OS. Version 1.62 revision 29. Its acronym is different as the Gundam is based on the Impulse. )

Gigantic Unilateral Neumerous Dominating Ammunition (The Gundams Freedom, Justice, and Providence are 3 special Gundams that are nuclear powered and are the first to incorporate nuclear capabilities.)

Generation Unsubdued Nulear Drive Assault Module (That was what is stood for in the previous Gundam models. Gundam SEED is the first of all Gundam series to actually state what Gundam actually stood for.)

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E. 73 Δ Astray

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E. 73 Δ Astray (pronounced "Delta Astray") is a collection of gaiden (side stories) set in the Cosmic Era of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, and is a follow-up to Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny Astray. It will also tie in with the ONA side story Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E. 73: Stargazer.

Δ Astray will follow a team dispatched from Mars to Earth for an as yet unrevealed purpose. The team is led by Agnes Brahe, a 16 year old Coordinator. The other characters currently identified are Nahe Herschel, a 19 year old Coordinator, and Diego Lowell, a 16 year old of unspecified genetic type. Lowell came to Earth ahead of the rest of the team, aboard Lowe Guele's ship ReHOME, and thus is likely the previously unidentified Martian who stole the Astray Red Frame late in Destiny Astray.

The title mobile suit, the GSF-YAM01 Δ Astray (Delta Astray), utilizes a propulsion system called "Voiture Lumiere", which appears to be similar to the ZGMF-X42S Destiny's "Wings of Light". The Voiture Lumiere is used to capture solar wind with its light particles and convert it into a propelling force, allowing the mobile suit to accelerate indefinitely.

After the Δ Astray became heavily damaged, a new suit called the ∇ Astray (Turn Delta Astray) was introduced as the new title suit. Like the Δ Astray, the ∇ Astray utilizes the Voiture Lumiere technology.

G Gundam

G Gundam is a very different series compared other gundam series where u control the gundam in a control panel pit, but in G gundam you control the gundam by what you do. The owner of the gundam wears a suit in where he can control the gundam just by movement. This method is much more comfortable and better interested by many gundam fans. Unfortunately, the only problem with this series is that it is mostly on Earth battles and there are too much gundams i will post the review for G Gundam manga Vol. 1 very soon.
