Spore ReviewPC Gamer UK has reviewed Spore, issuing it with a handsome score of 91%. Here's some excerpts from what it had to say on Will Wright's ambitious PC game, from the issues that's on sale now.
The opening words of the review say that, "Spore falls a little short of its promise at every stage, but bear in mind that its concept is as close as we've come to a game incarnation of the Lord our God. It's a game about evolving a lifeform from an amoeba up to the point at which it develops space travel, journeys to the centre of the galaxy and discovers the secrets of the universe. It's loftier than Jean-Paul Sartre discussing metaphysics with a cloud.
"It's also simple, cute and fun," says the mag. "Spore turns every phase of that journey - cell, creature, tribe, civilisation and space - into a caricatured minigame, and the principles of survival into game mechanics.

86% average score. If LBP scores more than Spore is average scores, I'm calling BS on the dumb reviewers.

LBP looks good but Spore is so damn innovative. Sidescroller, Action, RPG, RTS and at the end even a MMO all wrapped in a package. So far it's the best game I've played in 2008.
