These are the top rated anime(they are rated based on everything story,music,action,character development...etc...)of course rurouni kenshin has to be first lol  , but some I wouldn't agree with is princess monoke watched it about 4 times and found it weird and it never reached a certain climax and got me bored at the end....while The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya never impressed it was perverted and doesn't have much meaning(it only had 14 epsiodes where at the end the main character discovers that she has control of everything and for all that anyone knows she created the world the other day which makes no sense...and is messed up......)
for those wondering popular long anime like bleach/one piece/naruto never appear on these for the reason that the fillers will take down some marks and their will be many useless episodes......
Edit:actually it turns out in the top 50 bleach is around #18 while naruto isn't thier lol

you guys got ot watch the samurai x(rurouni kenshin )OAV though it's just awesome and the rest of the show while you are at it lol(I love it first anime I ever watched and what got me hooked to anime...)

Spirited Away for life.
I never watched anime #3, #4, #6, #7, #9, and #10.
Oh well. Naruto + Pokemon + Yu-Gi-Oh are better than those anime any way

duel masters sucks lol.......and kenshin owns deathnote anyday........seriously that's the anime that makes up the definition of awesomeness and is what got me hooked.....while The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was the most popular anime in japan for a while(all of 2006 and a bit of 2007.....\)

i used to love ruroni kenshin but another great anime was yu yu hakusho or something like that forgive my spelling i LOVE that show that was the best one ever
