Universal, Take Two Making 'Bioshock'
Long rumored to be in the works, today it's official: Universal and Take Two are combining forces to bring us a Bioshock movie.
Director Gore Verbinski, (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Ring) is slated to direct and produce the film. John Logan, writer of Gladiator, The Aviator and Sweeney Todd, is in talks to write BioShock’s screenplay.
"We are excited that 2K Games' vision for BioShock will be carried forward in a new medium," said Strauss Zelnick, Chairman of Take-Two. "BioShock has been hailed as one of the most highly cinematic and richly plotted titles in interactive entertainment, making it extremely well-suited to film. In partnering with Universal and Gore Verbinski, we have assembled a team that respects the uniqueness of BioShock and will translate it into a powerful movie experience."
Hmm... two talented, creative people and one incredibly awesome videogame story: Could this be the movie that breaks Hollywood's curse on videogame flicks?

game movies suck...Take DOOM for instance. And that legend of zelda april fools joke looked like garbage! This is probably be no different.

Doom movie was kinda good but the ending was just horrible.

I don't know... I mean, they SAID they were going to make a Halo movie but that got cancelled.

True...And Halo makes more sense on the big screen than Bioshock does..

It does?
Halo seems like a general action packed aliens movies while Bioshock seems like the next big horror movie with a good background story.

But all teh video game movies I've seen sucked horribly

actually to me bioshock makes much more sense...it was actually praised for it's story..while Halo was never meant to have a big story it was just forced to make a better one due to halo 1's popualrity but really it's all about the gameplay in halo(no one cares about mastercheif's damn visions of cortana...)

I mean how are they going to make spilcer for the movie and characters...it would be stupid but Halo would practically be like Transformers (Humans, and Aliens in CG.)
