Escaflowne: The Movie is an Alternate retelling of the Escaflowne series. In this movie version, Hitomi Kanzaki is a depressed teenager, detached from other people and life itself. She goes on believing that she should just fade away. However, her depression and misery summons Lord Folken, and whisks her away to the world of Gaea.
Gaea is a world hidden behind Earth's moon, and is in the middle of an ongoing war against Folken's forces. Many of the inhabitants believe that Hitomi is the Wing Goddess (capable of bringing out the legendary Dragon Armor called Escaflowne). She is also prophesized to bring about an ultimate outcome to the war and the very fate of Gaea itself.
Hitomi meets a warrior named Van who fights to get revenge on Folken for the destruction of his Kingdom. Hitomi joins Van and his companions on a quest to battle Folken and help Hitomi fulfill her destiny as the Wing Goddess.

About the Movie
The 9th Pokemon movie will feature Manaphy, along with Ash and the others. The official US title of the movie is "Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea." As the title suggests, Pokemon Ranger will play a major role in the film as well. The Japanese title of the movie translates into: Pokemon Ranger and the Prince of the Sea.
Official Movie Synopsis
It all started with a legend passed down from the people of Water...
Somewhere in this world, there is a Sea Temple created by the people of the Water. The Sea Temple contains a hidden treasure called the Sea Crown, but no one has ever seen the Sea Crown, or even the Sea Temple, because the temple is protected by a secret mechanism. The temple drifts through a vast ocean undetected, waiting... waiting...
Ash and Pikachu meet Lizabeth, a descendant of the people of the Water, and learn about the legend. They also meet Jackie, a Pokemon Ranger on a secret mission to protect a Manaphy egg (Manaphy is mysteriously known as The Prince of the Sea) and find the Sea Temple as well. While on this important mission, Jackie is attacked by a pirate known as The Phantom. The Phantom plans to obtain the Sea Crown and take over the world - but first he needs the Manaphy egg. Now Lizabeth and Ash must help Jackie protect the egg and stop the nefarious pirate! What is the Sea Crown? How does Manaphy's mysterious power conntect it to the Sea Temple? Can Ash help Jackie complete his mission?
