(WOW! BS) PS3 FIFA too complex for PC technologyAs if you needed any further convincing of the PlayStation 3’s raw processing power, EA Sports has revealed that only 1-3% of gaming PC's would be able to run the console versions of FIFA 2009.
"The PC version of FIFA 09 is different to the PlayStation 3 versions because of the CPU processing power required for the architecture of the game", a staff member on EA's UK forums stated.
"The majority of gamer's PC's do not have enough CPU processing power for this architecture," he continued. "If the architecture was identical to the PlayStation 3 version, FIFA 09 on PC would only be accessible to 1-3% of the PC systems on the market."
We're presuming that 1-3% is the quad-core water-cooled SLI brigade, who would presumably be far too busy getting Crysis to run on Medium settings anyway.

There is 260 million PC gamers. I will take an average of 2% from his rough estimate.
260,000,000 * 0.02 = 5,200,000
SO what he really is saying is that only around 5 million Pc gamers can run this game. Now Crysis sold nearly 3 million units. Crytek said that there was a ration of 20:1 pirated copies to each legit bought one.
So 20 * 3,000,000 = 60,000,000
So basically Crytek is saying 60 million people were able to or thought that they were able to run Crysis. So really who is EA BS by saying only 1-3% PC are capable 0f running Fifa 09, a game that does not come close to Crysis.

I was under the impression sports games sold solely based on their graphics? Its not like they add anything NEW every year. Its more of LOL LOOKIT, FIFA 09 HAZ EXTRA PEPOLZ. + GRAFIKZ

people buy sport games for graphics? I thought people buy Fifa to play with their favourite teams, Madden to play with men in tight pants, and Tiger Woods because they can't handle tense sport games.
Anyway, 20 players online Fifa should rock.
